Dad Gaming Reviews

I write honest game reviews for busy dads with limited time.

As a dad with a full-time job and a household that’s on the move as soon as I come home, sometimes all I want is to unwind and play some video games. But most days all I have is 30 minutes or maybe an hour once the kids are in bed.

Finding the right game to invest your precious, limited time can be hard. That’s why I am starting this blog. I want to provide insight into games for busy dads, so that you can pick up a game and get the most out of it straight away, and avoid investing time and money into games that just don’t suit your busy lifestyle.

When I think about what I want from a game after a hard day’s work, I want a game that feels rewarding to play, I can make decent progression in a small session, I can pick up and play without having to worry about customising my loadout or having to watch cutscenes. I want a game that’s easy to put down when I am tired, I don’t have to find a way to save or finish this quest. I want a game that’s relaxing (most of the time), that isn’t going to stress me out. I would rather save my challenges for the weekend when I can have a longer session.

Don’t get me wrong, I love games with huge amounts of depth to them, but I can’t ignore my duties as a father and a partner. But I also know I need to unwind and enjoy my hobbies. The hardest thing is when you really look forward to a game and then find out that you just don’t have the time to get the most out of it. Too much dialogue, more walking than action, or perhaps it just demands more focus than you have available.

I hope that my reviews will help you to make a more informed choice before you invest your time or money into your next game of choice.
